What an enjoyable and relaxing weekend!

Friday night I rested around the house for a good deal of the late afternoon and evening. Vim came by and we played some pool and darts, talked for a wile, and, all in all, took a load off.

Saturday began with some horticulture, namely, picking roses for the rose garden that shall soon appear at home and looking at enough bamboo to realize that the Internet will be required for some research. Then I went to pick up my dad’s friend from the airport. During the parts of the afternoon I was not entertaining, I was fiddling with spare, non-functional computers to create a single, functional computer. After dropping off my dad’s friend back at the train station in the late afternoon or early evening, depending on how you define such things, I went to Alex’s house to relax some more.

So far, Sunday has entailed apathy for the most part. I’m just about finished with Cryptonomicon, and I must say it is a very high quality read, especially if you are technologically inclined. But, even if you are not, it still is a fun, engaging, fast-paced (despite what its 911-page length would suggest) book. You may or may not remember that it was released to much fanfare and critical acclaim; I’ve been meaning to read it since around it came out, and I am quite glad I got around to it finally.

I went to a classic car show put on by a local chamber of commerce. I should have snapped some pictures whilst I was there, but I neglected to do so. It would have been nice had there been some more cars there, but it was also 98 and very sunny out.

As for the rest of the day, it will hopefully involve some more reading, maybe outside later in the afternoon. I do have a couple of chores to do around the house, but those shouldn’t take long. Possibly even another quick outing tonight.
