It turned out that the time for an update hasn’t really existed until now. I’ve been busy as of late with tasks and enjoyable activities.
Running has been progressing well. As it stands, as long as I keep doing it, I’ll get myself into shape. This week required working the running around the schedule somewhat, but it worked out except for not doing it this weekend. The week ahead will be different thought, but I get ahead of myself.
Work hasn’t been much different lately. While I haven’t been doing all that much interesting work, there has been some variety thrown in to save me from rote repetition. This coming week marks my final week there with my last day being Friday the 13th. Overall, I’d have to say that my internship there, even if uninteresting at times, was a success. I did do some interesting tasks, met some interesting and good people, will get a recommendation out of it, and got paid in the process. Despite me excelling at complaining about it, work didn’t really fall short in the areas that most mattered.
To cover the entertainment of the week, Thursday night was spent with Vim in downtown Los Angeles. A couple of other people were supposed to meet up with us, but that ultimately fell through, so it was just the two of us. We managed to entertain ourselves quite nicely, as usual, though accessing the roof of the Bonaventure turned out to be a more difficult task (a failed one, at that) than initially expected. It was a relaxing good time, which set the tone for the weekend.
Friday night involved an uneventful, yet restful, evening at Adam’s house with him, Alex, and friends of Adam’s who I hadn’t met before. It was a nice way to spend a Friday night, especially since fatigue had set in from not getting a full night’s sleep during any night of the week.
The bulk of the weekend was spent out in the surrounding area of San Diego. I had a fun, entertaining, relaxing weekend. I was able to really forget about all the responsibilities of work, home, school, etc., which felt really good, even if it was only for the time I was gone. It’s a trip I would like to repeat at some point.
I suppose all of this relaxation came at an opportune time, since this week is going to be incredibly busy with work, running, and GMAT studying. With under a week until the big test day, I need to get some quality studying in to really make sure I am prepared. I haven’t had to take any individual standardized test twice, except for the PSAT because Buckley required us to take it during both sophomore and junior years, and I don’t plan on setting a new precedent now.
I hope that update was sufficient. Now, to shift gears from leisure to responsibility.
P.S. (9 August 2004 6:17 PM) I forgot to include a link to a hilarious article. Did you know that California banned SUVs a long time ago? Enjoy.
