I haven’t updated for almost two weeks?! I could have sworn that I updated more recently then that. *shrug*

The first week of school went well. Classes look good for the most part, except for International Trade. That class is beyond horrible. Hence, it was dropped, and Graphics was put in its place instead. Although Graphics isn’t all that hot either, it’s much better than International Trade. Besides that, all of my classes look at least somewhat interesting and a couple of them should be really good.

The beginning of school has involved many trips to midtown, some intentional and some no so much. CompUSA has been visited a couple of times. Considering I went twice, I ended up buying very few things (a gigabit switch and a couple of very ancillary items), though I still need to acquire a good wireless keyboard (the issue isn’t the keyboard, but the mouse that comes with it). Oh, I also need a 60″ Pioneer plasma screen TV; does anyone have 8000$ that I can have?

Last weekend was enjoyable. It involved running into Goldberg, Andrew, et al at Symposium quite accidentally (ironically, after we couldn’t reach Hilary or Chelsea because they were at Symposium), which resulted in visiting Wien afterwards. Saturday night entailed excellent coffee at Sharon’s suite for the majority of the evening, as well as Soul Caliber, Tetris, and Tarot cards.

This past week ended up being a great week. Classes on Monday and Tuesday went well; there weren’t any unexpected surprises or problems and no real homework assigned (though that has since changed). On Tuesday evening, Sharon and I figured that since we weren’t going to classes on Wednesday, so as to leave for Rosh Hashana, we thought that getting cheesecake at Big Nick’s until 3 in the morning was a good idea. (Actually, we thought it was a “bad” idea.) That was awesome, except for homeless people on the subway.

As mentioned, Wednesday involved running away from school for observing Rosh Hashana. I ran away to Jess’ house (more accurately, rode the subway, Amtrak, and in Jess’ mom’s car in that order to Jess’ house) for the holiday. Dinner on both evenings was excellent (both of which included good wine, go me) and relaxing with friends is always good. In addition to relaxation, my productivity was surprisingly high since I read all the material I brought with me and half of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, which I stole so I could finish it at some point. On Friday afternoon, we saw two excellent movies and then I returned to Columbia (on the same media of transportation in reverse order).

So this week went from not at all stressful to very relaxing and calming. The best week I’ve had in a while.

Relish advice, anyone?
